Hello Inkies!<br />
It has been quite the quiet corner over on here on my blog, but I thought I'd jump right back into the hot seat and throw some creative spark starters at you using the new Jane Davenport Artomology Range.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky1_zpsplflxifb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky1_zpsplflxifb.jpg" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Today I want to show you three simple quick creative ways in which I've tweaked Jane's wonderful stamps for my journal pages. I love to look at stamps in a different light, how can I make it look quirky and a little weird because that's what I like to create and draw.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky2_zpsbeji50ig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky2_zpsbeji50ig.jpg" data-original-height="580" data-original-width="800" height="464" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is probably the most 'normal' way I've used the ADORABLE Narwhal.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I grabbed a blank project life card and the shade Scallop Shell! (by far my favourite shade) I stamped this at the top of the project life card and just cut around the top part of our Narwhal's body so that my tip in has a nice shape, which is a cute feature when all the items around it are straight lines. I've used the Smooth Markers to create a bright pink boarder and some sketchy lines for Journalling at a later date.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky3_zpslqtr5tup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky3_zpslqtr5tup.jpg" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Very simple and instant gratification which I am ALL about when it comes to journal keeping, we only have so many hours in a day, we want quick yet beautiful way to add things to our memory keeping books.<br />
<br />
Speaking of quick ways to add things to our journals, sometimes we only have time for the highlights! We want to get down the daily highlights just so we have a record somewhere, short on time and want to make note of one thing that happened that day. I saw this stamp in Jane's range and again looked at it..with my sort of eyes heehe.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky4_zpsj9fnsbzd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky4_zpsj9fnsbzd.jpg" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Grabbing my Smooth Markers again, I coloured in her hair bright and crazy knowing full well I will be giving her a haircut and separating her locks from her face changing the entire look.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky5_zpszdiojqe6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky5_zpszdiojqe6.jpg" data-original-height="555" data-original-width="800" height="442" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I wanted to create a cute and colourful way to capture daily highlights. The little things that stick out from the day, when you don't have a large chunk of time this is a great way just to get the important forget me not highlights! I LOVE how this came out and have already made several more to shoot across my pages in the coming months.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/ladybugdetails_zpsyn2wiruu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/ladybugdetails_zpsyn2wiruu.jpg" data-original-height="593" data-original-width="800" height="474" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Last fun way to use Jane's stamps is a cute little bug girl! I love creating creatures and whimsical takes on things. When I saw these little droopy flowers I instantly saw bug antennas! I then wondered how I could create the wings for our bug, and a flower cut in half would do just the trick! I grabbed a simple girls head with the same floral motif to make it look like a bug head wear.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky6_zpsrocgfpps.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky6_zpsrocgfpps.jpg" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I took inspiration from an oddball version I created in a pocket art journal that I work in from time to time. So I decided to create a bit of a bug sisterhood on my page. I think the Jane's version is the fancy well traveled bug sister. I used a fine tip black pen to create the line work on her bug body and the page boarder.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky7_zpsbgu3wtcd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky7_zpsbgu3wtcd.jpg" data-original-height="508" data-original-width="800" height="406" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky8_zpsyzhzkk3d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s679/littleravenink/inky8_zpsyzhzkk3d.jpg" data-original-height="195" data-original-width="800" height="96" width="400" /></a></div>

Many years ago now, I started an altered sewing book, a huge vintage sewing book that I turned into an art journal, little did I know back then that this journal would be one of my very favourite art journals that not only I adored but many others had come to adore.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyc9kHcvlFXT0qMowxt2Q0623_3v5bn7bn2Fu9a_rkmprYorNBHR2Vd03CUNk_7stpxL1e6nzK-Xd634jUzSva8zhSlVYkbYwWGHQCkVwMNoDJmDGMIz8oy9m3RmEhsmAvXv9Uz5H9xSM/s1600/sewbook2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyc9kHcvlFXT0qMowxt2Q0623_3v5bn7bn2Fu9a_rkmprYorNBHR2Vd03CUNk_7stpxL1e6nzK-Xd634jUzSva8zhSlVYkbYwWGHQCkVwMNoDJmDGMIz8oy9m3RmEhsmAvXv9Uz5H9xSM/s640/sewbook2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So one sleepless night (I have so many) I laid awake thinking of new ideas for my Y<br />
outube channel, when I decided I would teach people (and I use this term teach SUPER loosely) how to create a sewing book altered art journal for themselves. Not realizing the absolute magnitude that this project would become I decided to set the wheels in motion and present the idea to my viewers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja13btoakq5gH5hSiIsaaH9TQhh9D-ImdNvuDZhtvaJnmSBzm4s3nW2hsijJz-FoPPRy1-d49vnRV4BMc9kvH-01Jti7O5pJ7PJpskhDCU45iZMaLMM3pFS6Yxjo4RZayuj6oXDar1yqQ/s1600/sewbook1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja13btoakq5gH5hSiIsaaH9TQhh9D-ImdNvuDZhtvaJnmSBzm4s3nW2hsijJz-FoPPRy1-d49vnRV4BMc9kvH-01Jti7O5pJ7PJpskhDCU45iZMaLMM3pFS6Yxjo4RZayuj6oXDar1yqQ/s640/sewbook1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Streams and streams of positive feedback hit my inbox, I was actually very overwhelmed with the amount of YES PLEASES! I got. People wanted to see this happen, and now it was my job to make it happen...and so I took the steps to begin planning this mammoth task.<br />
<br />
In between this project we moved house (and it was a nightmare) we also got hit with a superbug as you do when all your defenses are down due to the previously mentioned move, and then the dreaded school holidays. My poor sewing book idea was put on the back burner as I got my barrings in the new house, created my studio space and generally took a break (if you can call school holidays a break).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiddNzPFyJhoPn9Z0ERs_4SaO9L7suwtvGp1kUGTd2eimK0Sl6eRPfc7o-IFHKIXWqqhlz7Jq6TIiOfAM_L6p7mKGmVuwiUfs8vVFtFcoTHlhDjvy_L9Wt6M3XF2Zz5QYGNpJuZN_p5cSI/s1600/sewbook4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiddNzPFyJhoPn9Z0ERs_4SaO9L7suwtvGp1kUGTd2eimK0Sl6eRPfc7o-IFHKIXWqqhlz7Jq6TIiOfAM_L6p7mKGmVuwiUfs8vVFtFcoTHlhDjvy_L9Wt6M3XF2Zz5QYGNpJuZN_p5cSI/s640/sewbook4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
While doing this, the comments kept coming, are you still doing this? Is this book still happening? Did I miss a video? Almost daily I would get 1-2 of the same questions about my sewing book. A constant reminder of what I have undertaken.<br />
<br />
This book became a force, a force I was starting to get petrified of! So many people wanted to see the book happen, am I really going to be able to give them what they want?...What if they hate it?, What if they end up hating me? My anxiety went through the roof! The thoughts of this book not living up to peoples expectations or even my own were starting to plague me day and night, maybe this idea wasn't such a good one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjn7yZfdFnY9A6zcVabl_2hV27LSnEzBOSCPlJ16uc8N5oCJGVMoM3T18ItK9ytk6ode5xq_RtHXyF5AwGmN-OTQM9aJxevYoPnBL4buXz7W-mHgAxmWQ7QbshOvonEfnz0IpjwAoZK7JY/s1600/sewbook3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjn7yZfdFnY9A6zcVabl_2hV27LSnEzBOSCPlJ16uc8N5oCJGVMoM3T18ItK9ytk6ode5xq_RtHXyF5AwGmN-OTQM9aJxevYoPnBL4buXz7W-mHgAxmWQ7QbshOvonEfnz0IpjwAoZK7JY/s640/sewbook3.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
People ask me all the time to do a paid class...ALL THE TIME! Why am I not teaching a course? and to be honest, I don't feel I have enough original content in me to do a paid course. I also like showing people what I do, for nothing...because I've had nothing before, I've not been able to afford to do a course due to our finances (previous marriage was struggle street) and so it means that a HUGE portion of people wouldn't get to see this book happen..if I made it a paid class, and that in my opinion is sad. One day I will get the courage to do a paid course....but today is not that day people.<br />
<br />
Then there is the negative Nancy on my shoulder saying...no one would pay anyway so why try.... So I'm just going with what feels best...giving it over to the masses and hope that it inspires a few to create their own.<br />

<br />
I wanted to write this blog post so you saw a little bit of my mindset when creating this series, my own perfectionism gets in the way of me doing half the ideas I have in my head. Sometimes when you think an artist can just produce ideas and art at the drop of a hat, (some artist may but I assure you I am not one of them) believe me when I say this journey has been a long one. One that has been riddled with self doubt and self questioning. I am not an expert nor do I claim to be one, I create what I enjoy and share because I enjoy sharing.<br />
<br />
I hope this has given you a little idea of how sometimes I may make it look simple and effortless...but it truly does take all I have within me to create things for my viewers, that I not only am proud of but also love aswell.<br />
<br />
Enjoy the series of the Altered Sewing Book Art Journal.<br />

<br />
Hello!<br />
It's been a while hasn't it? and I feel like I say this every blog post! but here I am, with my studio half overhauled in the chaos of it all there is <a href="http://mrjakeparker.com/inktober" target="_blank">INKTOBER! </a>a creative adventure I've watched from the sidelines most years, but this year I'm actually going to participate! I'm nowhere near the caliber of some of the artist I've seen participate in past years but that isn't going to stop me from inking a nook dweller!<br />
<br />
My darling friend <a href="http://juliasbento.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/inktober-2015-time.html" target="_blank">Julia over at Julia's Bento </a>and I were talking art and drawing as we usually do each day...and we decided that we would tackle Inktober this year! I am heading to Melbourne for 3 days so will be tough to draw while away but I'm going to make sure I draw!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEv8u6HtkR056Pi7kAyqoLGLGQBI_tWWU3t9B8vNRJJWlXWxBCWybqFBQo30ifh-DHYTFFeAH3J6H1q2w_xEzabdI0cFIycQXzUZ1ncB-Ykk6jxMmNIf-Aap08ODbt7EAUnUangPRQtwQ/s1600/ravinktober1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEv8u6HtkR056Pi7kAyqoLGLGQBI_tWWU3t9B8vNRJJWlXWxBCWybqFBQo30ifh-DHYTFFeAH3J6H1q2w_xEzabdI0cFIycQXzUZ1ncB-Ykk6jxMmNIf-Aap08ODbt7EAUnUangPRQtwQ/s640/ravinktober1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
So starting October 1st I will be drawing using my various inky pens and uploading my drawings to Instagram with the hashtags #inktober2015 and also #raveninktober I may also do a Youtube video but that I'm unsure of! I will do a Friday post here on the blog showing my weeks worth of inkings!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl1NopOonPya0XtsnLJWl3dZ1X_LvJYJvFKoTB0tKHr-a0i3iMghDz7_j7ByFL49jK1i4-cpd45izMhh8gzppBeWhPAXhj-9AcGs4q1BNeU2Dtfj-C0Jcw5df_r4D-WUZcGj4-i3V74nU/s1600/IMG_1521.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl1NopOonPya0XtsnLJWl3dZ1X_LvJYJvFKoTB0tKHr-a0i3iMghDz7_j7ByFL49jK1i4-cpd45izMhh8gzppBeWhPAXhj-9AcGs4q1BNeU2Dtfj-C0Jcw5df_r4D-WUZcGj4-i3V74nU/s640/IMG_1521.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
If you are going to participate in Inktober please leave a comment below with your IG name or your blog where you're going to post your drawings I would so love to see them!<br />
<br />
Take care! Seeya next with with some drawings! <br />

<br />
We are currently at the halfway through month one for the capsule wardrobe, and I am loving it! I have come up against a few instances where I've done omg what am I going to wear, to putting something on in many different ways and hating each way it looked! but I haven't buckled! <br />
I have found a way out, out of each and every lost for an outfit moment so far! So I am calling that a win in my eyes!<br />
The urge to shop is STRONG! I've picked up a few items and gone ohhhh this would look cute with this and this and this...and then I stop, and remember its not two weeks before spring yet (the time to shop and collate for next seasons capsule)...so what are you going Courtney? ...and I put it back.<br />
<br />
I thought I'd do a fortnightly/monthly post on some of my fave outfits that have been worn during each three months. Some images will be actual photos where I've made an effort to pose, and some will be in front of my wardrobe mirror before I run out the door (expect more of the later, I'm a mum with a hectic home life most days) I will also show you when an item pops up more than once in a week, and how it looks in different styles, I have a grey oversized boyfriend cardigan that made it into two outfits this week!.<br />
<br />
So outfit one with above mentioned cardigan was with a floral dress, tights and grey leather boots.<br />this outfit soared to the top of my faves very quickly, its girly and comfy, and totally wearable for winter! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDECW0Xqk3ZeA_Wg9NXv_y1lVExbtpOvPNsz6alRcVrDpLrrdWPa0-o10T7CpDuxtadpb59OEc6LVSHbrfF0Oim-z8c04l1MHqXzhUrZumDbihCvOAiwM4F_Yu_PDPwzh7sIxGwEerRxs/s1600/IMG_0318.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDECW0Xqk3ZeA_Wg9NXv_y1lVExbtpOvPNsz6alRcVrDpLrrdWPa0-o10T7CpDuxtadpb59OEc6LVSHbrfF0Oim-z8c04l1MHqXzhUrZumDbihCvOAiwM4F_Yu_PDPwzh7sIxGwEerRxs/s640/IMG_0318.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The boots are from city chic currently on sale </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dress from asos - no longer sold</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
belt is also Asos (came with a skirt)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cardigan is Rivers.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tights are from City Chic (and super comfy)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLykY8-H0IMtcI371Lu8BvpV-pU6ALHtbviwgZ_sDP9KuW5gddzYEXwDdD7UyUsBsUcSzQs9ODiGgF2QQMqKtsCANGvqMu-qUvHFlABvOMd1n9oM43mksVKBzAy2FjhxSrmkVft14_AyQ/s1600/IMG_0319.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLykY8-H0IMtcI371Lu8BvpV-pU6ALHtbviwgZ_sDP9KuW5gddzYEXwDdD7UyUsBsUcSzQs9ODiGgF2QQMqKtsCANGvqMu-qUvHFlABvOMd1n9oM43mksVKBzAy2FjhxSrmkVft14_AyQ/s640/IMG_0319.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I wore a long silver chain with a amber pendant gifted from my sister years ago to tie it all together<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM46uPpm78YPWI8ov1bt3otoqOdWAL8ULxnLRSCmL5gsED2CVdaB5lcXTuJKx-jyjCrtkMwtH21q1-rtaSokR73H89lT1yEk3cW1HSA5qyhtUq0C6TqjdDoJUy26YCpgw4BMRHlxfzjB4/s1600/IMG_0326.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM46uPpm78YPWI8ov1bt3otoqOdWAL8ULxnLRSCmL5gsED2CVdaB5lcXTuJKx-jyjCrtkMwtH21q1-rtaSokR73H89lT1yEk3cW1HSA5qyhtUq0C6TqjdDoJUy26YCpgw4BMRHlxfzjB4/s640/IMG_0326.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
Then a few days later I put the cardigan to work again with a more casual look<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJqm8o_s8Zyps3W13GFms7h4Si9ZJFB-XYyics5YVDNiNd3rqqQBK0IL0n2VlyB83YrQhbWK7tYuQB-5-phXvxZKmXdFg6jKADixAzL-b9C6h8ZBU6LP_ZkQtuflSnBSG8s9LY0qxhtzM/s1600/IMG_0385.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJqm8o_s8Zyps3W13GFms7h4Si9ZJFB-XYyics5YVDNiNd3rqqQBK0IL0n2VlyB83YrQhbWK7tYuQB-5-phXvxZKmXdFg6jKADixAzL-b9C6h8ZBU6LP_ZkQtuflSnBSG8s9LY0qxhtzM/s640/IMG_0385.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Ignore the dirty mirror and my ghastly hair! ( I do try and clean the sucker daily but apparently missed a spot)<br />
I paired the boyfriend cardigan with a tucked in graphic tee and a navy middi skirt, tights and black boots.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Boots are from target</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Skirt is from modcloth </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh86DPW8a_IR376m31E2pSlaGBom_1PYZZgJXhZ5GVqcDlPYbaL3wFtjvwN03gnSAaiivAJPUjwKy7qEzPaU73iXlK2Shjg8cTVdEYg7CrLWk7mNe8t4HYAkLumkLkiETCMR3YjNYDXq3M/s1600/IMG_9994.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh86DPW8a_IR376m31E2pSlaGBom_1PYZZgJXhZ5GVqcDlPYbaL3wFtjvwN03gnSAaiivAJPUjwKy7qEzPaU73iXlK2Shjg8cTVdEYg7CrLWk7mNe8t4HYAkLumkLkiETCMR3YjNYDXq3M/s640/IMG_9994.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Other outfits to make the cut this fortnight was that dress I bought, that was a new edition to my capsule<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgubAe0PWA_Mi0x-0qSxvT6W-VJ7hPIysr1kuLyDkQkeAjacy6l9JLf35Zz7dR4YTCuAHkPnkinucCzRB15Mnr7PZSfNlgOGxh5_v7ajgYsDPJ4lzbtsNTNwr1Eieqodz76lqcPVBvPSg4/s1600/IMG_0299.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgubAe0PWA_Mi0x-0qSxvT6W-VJ7hPIysr1kuLyDkQkeAjacy6l9JLf35Zz7dR4YTCuAHkPnkinucCzRB15Mnr7PZSfNlgOGxh5_v7ajgYsDPJ4lzbtsNTNwr1Eieqodz76lqcPVBvPSg4/s640/IMG_0299.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I fell head over heels for this dress when I saw it on sale, it had to be mine! I paired it with a long cardi and belted it in, tights and boots. It was perfect for a Saturday out with the family, was comfy and I got so many compliments on the dress from strangers!<br />

Lastly is another item that I bought for my capsule is the 17Sundays chambray button up, it was on sale so I snapped one up for my capsule and I am ever so glad I did! it is such beautiful top and so comfy! I have two outfits with this top, although I wore it over a babydoll dress aswell but didn't get a good photo in that outfit.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This outfit was the top buttoned and tucked into an Asos Midi skirt. I wore it with bare legs (and regretted it as I froze) I paired with with simple black pointy flats and a Ena and Albert rainbow double strand necklace which also gets heaps of compliments on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Hello,<br />
and welcome to a monthly feature here on the blog 'Book Nook' Where I'll review an art and journal related book on here and also on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWZCTLx8iZTjPW5ColfENCA" target="_blank">my Youtube channel.</a> Once a month I'll do a written and verbal review for you guys! This month I've decided to chose a very in demand book Beautiful Faces by the lovely <a href="http://www.instituteofcute.com/" target="_blank">Jane Davenport</a>. Not only do I adore Jane as a teacher but as a person, but she has created a book that stormed the amazon charts for mixed media taking number one spot for many weeks! Even now shes at number 6 and I only think its there currently because the colouring book craze is mammoth at the moment.<br />
<br />
This book is filled with not just eye candy, but it is also bursting with information, techniques, ideas and inspiration. I feel personally there isn't a book like it on the market. Published by Quarry books (where I feel the best art/mixed media books are published) Jane's book is not just a book, but an experience.<br />

I did not get sent this book in exchange for a positive review, I purchased this book with my own money, as I have done with almost all of her classes. Others were gifts, and also a scholarship. Now you all know I am a mumma on a family budget, so I make sure I am buying things I think are worth the price tag, and let me tell you this book is.<br />
<br />
I've taken many of Jane drawing classes and they are always the ones I recommend to people first, 'Supplies Me' is still by far my very favourite of her courses on offer, for beginners and beyond! even with all the class videos, this book is fantastic reference material for when I'm on the couch or at my desk and want to just draw! instead of watching a video refresher.<br />
<br />
Beautiful faces is slightly different to everything else out there, for while Jane was writing this book, she was also filming a sister class, so the pages were bought to life in front of your very eyes. Now I am not a member of this class YET, but it's on my classes to take, I have friends in the class and have only heard great things. Like I said this book in an experience on its own, but I can imagine how amazing it would be to watch them be created layer by layer face by face. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWoKfn392jzX5EY-y9HQA1oZhFslWEtieKRCEFIY0lYW-EfEjLR3PNq5xykHY92eYw5O9RtOhHesQ11WE4sW9f1XlkE_OkIjhyMDsdhHCn5NLtB4PX4pFTuSYTDEaFA0cFubYuF6kEPPE/s1600/IMG_0403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWoKfn392jzX5EY-y9HQA1oZhFslWEtieKRCEFIY0lYW-EfEjLR3PNq5xykHY92eYw5O9RtOhHesQ11WE4sW9f1XlkE_OkIjhyMDsdhHCn5NLtB4PX4pFTuSYTDEaFA0cFubYuF6kEPPE/s640/IMG_0403.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I have enjoyed sitting with the technique pages, just pouring over every single detail. This alone is so lovely to be able to do, as with the classes I've taken I spend more time rewinding to catch things than I'd like to admit! But with this book, I spend ample amount of time on each step, so that I too can get the right amount of shading, or my face symmetry right. These book literally has endless tips and beauty to behold...I'll admit more than I expected before purchasing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRDoQsXkxvt-H-ALgHShwjKmbMu4gkgseiCyEGTwK0yHtLL2IaUsdeckp8We9lAj444v9yKm_qvNOLFQNQcYu4_4bOLVUmTk9AkQ16WSvcS_y6R9yUjWbiSdO89JI-rirRkTXfgv5XLPs/s1600/IMG_0404.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRDoQsXkxvt-H-ALgHShwjKmbMu4gkgseiCyEGTwK0yHtLL2IaUsdeckp8We9lAj444v9yKm_qvNOLFQNQcYu4_4bOLVUmTk9AkQ16WSvcS_y6R9yUjWbiSdO89JI-rirRkTXfgv5XLPs/s640/IMG_0404.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The step by step images are all very close up, so the detail you can see is truly helpful when you have the book only as a reference. (I'm just a glutton and want the class as well) I don't want to show too much of the tutorial modes within the book, as that will spoil it for you, but know there is lots of step by step guides for you to fawn over not just for eye candy but for genuine help with your own artworks. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA80S4amxcR1zA1JEVVfZCQy7608LsBIa5xy75hDGAhyphenhyphenNIfFRu_WnkQnCkRUCzJlnWew8a5Gg7Xkr4a8rMtADwwcAqX57_OqBw__QTzPaHikHthHkM9r7VY-6JMWf73suR74ruFlZxRWs/s1600/IMG_0402.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA80S4amxcR1zA1JEVVfZCQy7608LsBIa5xy75hDGAhyphenhyphenNIfFRu_WnkQnCkRUCzJlnWew8a5Gg7Xkr4a8rMtADwwcAqX57_OqBw__QTzPaHikHthHkM9r7VY-6JMWf73suR74ruFlZxRWs/s640/IMG_0402.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
Within the pages of the book is also supply advice! giving you some of Jane's very much love supplies, which are photographed beautifully and also very tempting to buy everything she says is lovely...That is one thing with Jane she will never steer you wrong when it comes to supply buying, I have yet to hate something shes recommended to me. Including paper tips...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNU8gYiYgx7HC_5Wyk-DhEzfd38hdyR2et5Pvk6uyzijN09Jxy576tEFxmkGH2qfSi-rwrm9II1nRFGcekhKMRPofQBbark9cmoKVqGUm5KafD3BgR1OWNp9Wj5XlkEIvUhIpp1ZCf6qU/s1600/IMG_0405.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNU8gYiYgx7HC_5Wyk-DhEzfd38hdyR2et5Pvk6uyzijN09Jxy576tEFxmkGH2qfSi-rwrm9II1nRFGcekhKMRPofQBbark9cmoKVqGUm5KafD3BgR1OWNp9Wj5XlkEIvUhIpp1ZCf6qU/s640/IMG_0405.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
All in all I think Jane's book was well worth the pricetag! and I can see myself purchasing copies of this for my nieces as gifts when they are a touch older. I can already picture my niece Sophia losing her mind at all the colours and the step by step guides and shes 7 next weekend. This book is a fantastic one to have in your collection for the beauty and for the brains.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
If you'd like the book and the course pop on over to <a href="http://janedavenport.com/" target="_blank">Jane's Website </a>where all the links to all the things are! its a very magical place over there!<br />
On my review scale I give this book a 9/10, truly a must to have in your collection. If I ever manage to squirrel away enough cash for the course as well I'll review it too!<br />
<br />
If you have any questions about the book, or have a book you'd like me to review for next month, pop it in the comments! I'd love to hear recommendations!<br />
<br />
Tomorrow I'll be filming the youtube review which will go up on Friday the 12th of June, when its uploaded I'll add the video down here for you to watch aswell.<br />
<br />
Take care, Cx <br />

<br />
Thank you for such a positive response on all my media platforms about the plus size capsule wardrobe post! It really made me stand up and take notice that it is a big gap that needs filling! I am here to fill the gap just a little!<br />
<br />
After last post I left you with the room of doom, where I sorted, and collated my wardrobe bit by bit and now its time to show you what made the cut! and also what I purchased. The total of my items and maybe and outfit or two.<br />
<br />
Each week I will try to do a collection of outfits, I'll show you what items I wore and how I wore them. So both you and I can see what has gotten the most amount of wear, what is the most versatile and what could have been left out by the end of the three months.<br />
<br />
I have a total of 40 items altogether broken up into, tops, bottoms, outerwear, shoes. I have considered adding scarves to my total but the jury is out on that at present moment. I am seriously considering not counting my handbags and my scarves as they come under accessories. (in the end scarves and bags were not counted although my total for both is still very low)<br />
Moving onto the clothing items:- <br />
<br />
For tops I have<br />

For now this is all I have, in the coming posts I will be posting outfits and clothing combinations to show you what has worked well and what really hasnt.<br />
<br />
Which of my 'maybe' clothes do you think should make up my 40 items? There will be a pair of black leggins added to the 40 so only 2 items from the maybe's will make it.<br />
<br />
I will be back once a week with a capsule post, another part of the series will be #projectwearit, where I purchase a high end item and a low end item and wear them the same amount of times to see if spending an extra few dollars will be worth it.<br />
<br />
what items do you want to see in outfits?<br />

<br />
<br />
I want to just pop on and introduce a new series that will come to my blog monthly called 'Let's Talk About' where I talk about subjects that are a little more on the personal side. I get a lot of emails and questions about certain things, and thought I could cover them in these blog posts, dealing with depression, weightloss, weight gain, big girl issues, how to stay motivated. A whole range of issues that I get asked a lot.<br />
<br />
I'm no expert by any means but I do know a thing or two about the subjects above as I deal with them on a day to day basis. If there is an issue you would like my thoughts and insights into please don't hesitate to pop them in the comments section. I will take all topics from art to life, and one by one do a blog post on them. <br />
<br />
You will also see a few changes happen to my blog in the coming weeks as I give it a little make over. I am re evaluating my word of the year, 'accountability' and grasping it again with both hands as we come to the middle of the year when big plans usally get laid to waste in the wings of life. I want to be more present on my blog, and on my yt channel, the daily filming burnt me out so after quite a long break I will be taking on 2-3 blog posts a week as well as 2 videos a week on my channel, not too many to overwhelm me!<br />
<br />
So with that note! get your suggestions into the comments section so I can start putting together some posts! it can be anything you really want to know from my point of view.<br />
<br />
I'll be back later on in the week with an updated one little word post.<br />

<br />
<br />
I never thought I would be talking about fashion or clothing on my little blog, its not something I see myself ever really sharing. Being a big girl, I would always shy away from fashion posts even though I do adore clothing.<br />
<br />
The plus size girl movement is a current and amazing thing to witness, and after reading countless blogs and videos where big wonderful fashionable girls talk style, and clothes, it gave me the push to start talking about it too, not a lot, maybe once a fortnight.<br />
<br />
I stumbled onto the idea of Capsule Wardrobes a couple of months ago now, reading on of my fave blogs mentioned it and before I know it I'm falling down the rabbit hole. researching it like a woman possessed (If you haven't noticed I have a total addictive personality)<br />
<br />
The idea of the capsule wardrobe is that we overhaul our closets to collate a small number of clothing items that are wearable, matchable and absolutely loved. The capsule wardobe is to limit the amount of clothing shopping you do and to really think about what you want, invest in some key items and really make use of the items that are in your wardrobe.<br />
It is a method that people are using to make getting dressed in the mornings or weekends something that is effortless as 90% of your wardrobe will make an outfit and it will match seamlessly.<br />
<br />
I am a woman who buys way too many clothes, I usually buy from sale racks and don't really consider what will this go with, how can I wear it, will I get a good cost per wear out of this item. Which results in me having a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear. Usually my clothing barely matches, which again results in what do I wear syndrome every weekend before we leave the house to go out. It drives John crazy. <br />
<br />
While in the rabbit hole I found some of my fave links that talk about Capsule Wardrobes:-<br />
<b><span style="color: black;"><a href="http://www.un-fancy.com/" target="_blank">Un-Fancy</a></span> </b>this blog was so amazing to read she also has some wardrobe planner pages you can print and use for your own capsules<br />
<b><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu0YotjKfFFlJqLBaN9Lz9P_2gtY7WBS6" target="_blank">LightbyCoco</a></b> this is a youtube playlist from a lovely woman called Coco who takes you through her capsule wardrobe aswell as some outfits with the items she chose.<br />
<a href="http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/capsule-wardrobe/" target="_blank"><b>Elise Blaha</b> </a>A blogger I've been reading for years now and was actually how I discovered it in the first place, the link takes you to all her capsule wardrobe posts.<br />
<br />
Now all these links are lovely! don't get me wrong, but I had a really hard time finding plus size capsule wardrobes to draw inspiration on! I found whispers of them around the youtubes and pintrest, but nothing like the above links, and that made me wonder why?<br />
<br />
So instead of wondering I decided that I would be a plus size girl who did put up posts on capsule wardrobes, so that if any other women were looking my blog might help them with ideas or outfit inspiration! Now I am no fashion blogger, I have absolutely NO experience in plus size fashion posts! I am not in the league of <a href="http://gabifresh.com/category/style/" target="_blank">Gabbifresh</a> or the lovely Aussie <a href="http://sugercoatit.com/" target="_blank">SugerCoatIt</a> or <a href="http://www.leblogdebigbeauty.com/" target="_blank">Stéphanie Zwicky</a>. I do know what I like to wear, and I am not a bad dresser by any means! so be gentle with me, give me some time I'll get the hang of photographing myself.<br />
<br />
So my wardrobe and drawers got completely emptied<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDOInlONXEGS3NvQxWPfjtzYMZJRjx_Lul62oOUjJln9sosEg6AHiVGL7Ts3sxNwUUmGpF_qJmgChhFWf8Z_1D7lGmsv4p8XEr1AMNWgSRGrO8OGOk1l7T5NRCWCVGClD5z3qD1GYpNgs/s1600/IMG_0035.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDOInlONXEGS3NvQxWPfjtzYMZJRjx_Lul62oOUjJln9sosEg6AHiVGL7Ts3sxNwUUmGpF_qJmgChhFWf8Z_1D7lGmsv4p8XEr1AMNWgSRGrO8OGOk1l7T5NRCWCVGClD5z3qD1GYpNgs/s640/IMG_0035.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
Excuse the HORRIBLE quality shot, I didn't think I would ever blog this! this was just a picture I sent to my bestie as a OMG my room threw up kinda deal! I never expected to be showing you world war 3 bedroom status on my blog.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLOlrqhKG_WA_EF7EZAWvn3Mkf7ZdIJN3-bAgBpLIN1L70X47lLQCVkTR8KyD90-vxhpE_QxToO1yejrRpKavNL-w8g0DZVOL83PfiaK9rWKeR_bqNH0jV6CcXceod-6Xe3td-PvuV0SY/s1600/IMG_0037.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLOlrqhKG_WA_EF7EZAWvn3Mkf7ZdIJN3-bAgBpLIN1L70X47lLQCVkTR8KyD90-vxhpE_QxToO1yejrRpKavNL-w8g0DZVOL83PfiaK9rWKeR_bqNH0jV6CcXceod-6Xe3td-PvuV0SY/s640/IMG_0037.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I bought some<a href="http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/70282845/" target="_blank"> bags from ikea</a> and started packing up clothes. Australia is currently about to head into Winter, so I was making a winter capsule wardrobe to wear for the next three months. So summer things went into storage. I packed HEAPS! I threw out a lot, I will put some items up for sale, I have a few items that currently dont fit but will soon so they went into the bags, if I didn't love it, it went into a donate bag. If I haven't worn it in the last 6-12 months I either sold it, or donated it. I was ruthless, I was hesitant at first then it became a overwhelming sense of joy as I saw the piles get smaller and more organized.<br />
<br />
This process took me approximately a week to complete, my room was in a state of chaos for most of that, and it was so tough on my anxiety to have my room that crazy disorganized. I was tripping on bags and clothes and boxes but I knew it was going to be worth it in the end. Although many a swear word was mumbled, uttered and yelled when my foot connected with a bag or a box or even an item of clothing over the duration of the week. <br />
<br />
I had a general idea of what I wanted in my wardrobe, I found a few lists floating around and customized them to fit myself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiitRjt9DD4usjZjlrster6xSNO6MDcxy9vRLWOfHlh6biPWDiRM9bygiuGtC5jp8NXeeB-G7Dkp4duFClR8CeeoK657KbuQOrLInebUEP93k4K_nvDA9PJRWsShB3ueptv2tJ22kNHKbU/s1600/IMG_0165.TIF" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiitRjt9DD4usjZjlrster6xSNO6MDcxy9vRLWOfHlh6biPWDiRM9bygiuGtC5jp8NXeeB-G7Dkp4duFClR8CeeoK657KbuQOrLInebUEP93k4K_nvDA9PJRWsShB3ueptv2tJ22kNHKbU/s640/IMG_0165.TIF" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcTjVCc_sOo1DvVh5N4KDjAs1JQHVJmvd6_LPi-Y4CEjg7yQr33tfYsR-jXrAcu_Uj-wwTa8wN_o3wE5Q0bY9cAdHZFPzW8JxxAWq52dvg1rimvPsI8ormCwDeYHlf7eDTV3xB4BoHnJQ/s1600/IMG_0166.TIF" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcTjVCc_sOo1DvVh5N4KDjAs1JQHVJmvd6_LPi-Y4CEjg7yQr33tfYsR-jXrAcu_Uj-wwTa8wN_o3wE5Q0bY9cAdHZFPzW8JxxAWq52dvg1rimvPsI8ormCwDeYHlf7eDTV3xB4BoHnJQ/s640/IMG_0166.TIF" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I made notes on things, what I thought would go together, lots of planning before even selecting items to keep in my capsule. I also made a wishlist at the back of my notebook for items that I can see would be a great addition but would take time to save for like a leather jacket, and leather wide calf boots these items would have to wait till I had the money for them. I had an idea of what items I wanted to shop for to fill the gaps that I had in my winter capsule.<br />
<br />
I made a list, and did some online looking. I knew I wanted a dashwash pair of good fitting jeans, a new pair of black ballet flats, an all rounder scarf, a few basic long singlets and a few neutral layering items. I had a small budget of around $250 to get these items so I needed to do a lot of hunting to get good prices. I wanted good quality clothes that would last, which with that budget some may say is hard, but I did it.<br />
<br />
In my next post, I'll be showing you what made the cut, and the items I purchased to fill the gaps.<br />
I hope this series is welcomed to my blog, it took me a very long time to get the guts to post this! I had talked myself out of it many many times.<br />
<br />
Now to get used to photographing myself! if you have tips for that post a comment!<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
I recently finished Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Adgenda by Becky Altertalli and here are some of my thoughts on the book.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This book took me completely by surprise, being a visual person the cover was ashamedly what drew me in to begin with, but that soon faded as I started reading.<br /><br />This is contemporary YA book which was witty and funny in all the right places. Centered around Simon our 16 year old protagonist who is exploring his sexuality as he faces the highs and lows of highschool life.<br />This book follows a cute and adorable love story between our beloved Simon and a boy who we first only know as 'Blue' an anonymous and rather charming email buddy. At first our not-so-openly gay Simon and Blue exchange harmless daily emails that soon turn into a blossoming e romance before our very eyes. <br /><br />I enjoyed the fast pace nature of this book, the quirky ins and outs of friendships and the beautifully written family dynamic when it came to Simon's family. There are some very lovely moments written into this book,Some I loved and some I didn't really care for. It showed the many facets to how people react when finding out someone in their life is gay. Which I really appreciated, it wasn't all just Oreo's and rainbows which is appealing to me as a reader. <br />Following Simon on his journey to revealing to the world that he is in fact gay, we are taken on his journey as he deals with this development and how he comes to terms with this in a high school setting. <br />We watch as Simon lusts after a boy through email conversations while trying to keep a normal persona in school, which in time becomes hard to do as news gets out about his sexual preference. <br /> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think a lot of people will connect well with this book, as memories of my teenage years flashed before my eyes during certain scenes in the book, the way love was portrayed within the pages was bang on how I remember it as a 15 year old girl, and I love that about this book, its a heart strings puller. <br /><br />Most characters in this book aren't fleshed out, which is a shame because I feel the writer has created such a colour cast of characters that I wanted to get to know a little better, but never got the chance to. That really is my only criticism to this book. I just wanted some more meaty characters as Simon is such a well fleshed out character, I expected his friends to be on the same level within the book. <br /><br />Overall I thought this book was a lovely light read, a little too perfect when it came to the ending, but certainly not a book that disappoints. Even though this book is like nothing I've ever read, I am quiet surprised how quickly and easily I read this. Simon's character makes this book worth picking up alone. And of course who doesn't love a good romance. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I gave this book a 4/5 stars on goodreads. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I got an E Arc Copy of this book from http://www.penguin.com.au/ and this in no way shapes my review. </div>

<br />
It was purely by accident I found the youtube world of books... also known affectionately as <b>Booktube</b>. Much like my stumble into the filofax world I was intrigued.<br />
<br />
As a self labelled book nerd and all around book lover all through my schooling, I had a huge passion for books since I was a small girl. My family always revered books and reading, and one of my fondest memories was of my mum reading to my sister and I, a Roald Dahl classic, Fantastic Mr Fox We sat still (which was rare) for hours as mum read to us, it was magical and one of my very favourite memories still to this day.<br />
<br />
I read book after book in my early teens, spending summer holidays in Sydney with my Nan, pouring over her bookshelves as she picked age appropriate books for me, which I devoured one after another, I loved books but that love became a somewhat dormant love for many years, I would read a book here and there, but that was it.<br />
<br />
I stopped <b>making time</b> for books.<br />
<br />
You wouldn't think that I was a dormant book lover, between John and I, we had enough books to house two and a half utterly huge bookcases, like I said I loved books, and couldn't bare to part with the collection I had built up during my high school days. So I packed them up into boxes each and every move, and believe me, I have moved a lot during those years.<br />

<span style="font-size: xx-small;">Our shelves before the rearrangement </span></div>
<br />
Fast forwarding to present day, well a little before present day...to the day I found booktube, it was like a breath of fresh air had been breathed into the shelves of my books, like they sprung to life like the movie Ink heart. I sat up watching video after video, devouring like I once did the books which now grace my shelves.<br />
<br />
These videos were of passionate readers with book backdrops that would make some libraries ache. Giving opinions and emotions, book rants and book loves. It was like almost coming home to hug the 15 year old version of myself as I lay on my bed, propped on my elbows, feet up in the air turning the pages of a well worn John Marsden Book, Tomorrow when the war began. Even now I smile as I type this recalling the memories.<br />
<br />
I spoke to my husband at high speed, explaining that we need to start incorporating reading back into our every day life, we needed it, our kids needed it almost more than we did, living in today's world where kids are bombarded with electronics and hours of TV I felt our kids were losing their ability to use their imagination, and books were the starting spark for that creative fire, action needed to happen<br />

<span style="font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-size: small;">We began by rearranging our bookshelves, </span> </span>sorting them into genres and authors, we both came to the marriage with many many books so it was interesting to spend a Friday night with the man I love discussing our favourites, and creating homes on shelves for them. We bought in a slim shelf to put next to the bigger ones, to create TBR shelves, books that we intend to read, a his and hers if you will.</div>

We began planning trips to op shops (thrift stores) as books in Australia are on the rather expensive side, so what better way to start collections than by trying to find second hand books that need new homes, the kids had ideas of what they wanted to find and most trips each of them came home with 1-2 books each, Elijah scouring the shelves to find weather and disaster books and Lily looking for books on animals. It has become a bi monthly adventure for the family, where we go visit different bookstores and each come out with a small haul.<br />

I have honestly loved every second of our new journey as a family, it gives John and I a new avenue to explore together, as we talked very little about books even though we clearly are big readers once before, and now again.<br />

It has been amazing to take some time each day with lunch, and at night to just curl up on the couch with a book and forget life for 30 mins, I had forgotten how truly magical it is to just immerse yourself in a book, I've found myself laughing out loud, sobbing my heart out and just plain giddy with the array of books I've devoured this month (which has been quite a large chunk!)<br />
<br />
I even created a whole book in my Journal devoted to books! Writing down the books I read, and taking notes during them, has been a rather enjoyable task, also helpful if John and I decide to start our own Booktube Channel, which has been thrown around a lot lately.<br />

I've even enjoyed the little bookcase image, where I've been pasting down little images of books I've been reading, I need to add a few more! as I've read much more than whats on the shelves currently.<br />
<br />
I know reading isn't for everyone, but I think one should try it before they decide they aren't a reader! It helps open up your mind to so many ideas and thoughts! Its a mini vacation from the mundane routine of life. Its done wonders for the kids, with our daily allotted reading time, even to the point where Elijah has asked for longer books to read.<br />
<br />
I will continue the Reading Nook on the blog each month with an assortment post of what I'm reading, and what have been my faves from the month, with mini back stories. <br />

Even though this is a rather lengthy blog post, I feel it had to be written about, this post has been bubbling away in my brain for sometime now, and I felt it was time to get it all out. I hope I helped spark something in you the way Booktube did for me.<br />
<br />
Drawing videos and blogs will be coming soon now that my husband is home! and I feel I can create again.<br />

A new segment that will feature on the blog will be art book reviews, I know there are many of us out there that adore some eye candy, and I am a confessed art book buying crazed woman. So many ask me what my favourite books are when I show a new acquisition so I thought as a monthly blog post I would review the books in my collection and any other new ones that may happen to be adopted by yours truly. <br />

The book in question is <a href="http://www.bookdepository.com/Creative-License-Danny-Gregory/9781401307929" target="_blank">The Creative License</a> by <a href="http://dannygregorysblog.com/" target="_blank">Danny Gregory</a> This book jumped into my basket while I was perusing the books at Kinokuniya which is a wonderful bookstore in the city, it is always such a treat when we visit this book store, with all the lush books, and stunning stationery department I could in fact spend many hours and not get bored. I always find myself in the art section of the book store, how could I not! I was feeling rather blah this day, and saw this brightly coloured watercolour and instantly was drawn to it. The words 'Giving yourself permission to be the artist you truly are' written right up front caught my attention. I as an artist struggle daily calling myself an actual artist, no I'm not famous, no I don't have work in galleries, but I do art...most days in fact so I wondered what this book could do for me, since I struggle so much with OWNING the title artist when referring to the question...'and what do you do?'</div>

This book changes the way you look at things, I love things that have passion about them, and reading the words while drinking in the artwork it oozes passion for art, drawing and journal keeping. He uses his own experiences to explain things, with little challenges to keep you on your toes, telling you to embrace mistakes as they are what you learn from. If you are entertaining the thought of keeping a drawing journal, or a visual account of your days and I know many of us are doing this to an extent in our Hobonichi journals this book is a great companion for you. It gets you out of your little box, and pumps you with confidence, whilst helping you get a feel for drawing even if you haven't ever entertained the idea of drawing a stick figure. </div>

Below are just some pages that are currently in my Hobonichi, I have totally adored drawing my day, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I am, yes the editing and uploading it a bit of a pain but I have gotten into a routine where I do it on auto pilot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I enjoy the process of seeing how I bring things to life, some days I am really stumped and turn the camera on hoping not to stuff up! As long as people watch, I will endeavor to draw and film them. <br />

<br />
<br />
This post wont be a long one! as I filmed a rather long video about this which you can find below.<br />
With my word for the year being accountability I had to really think about what I wanted in this years planner journal line up, I needed them to inspire me and also keep me in check.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Knc_3sRUZdQ" width="560"></iframe><br /></div>
<br />
With the sudden hype around the Hobonichi journals/planners I must admit at first I wasn't as pulled as others were...till I saw <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWMQ0M_FSL8" target="_blank">this video</a><br />
and that video is like a drug for me! I watch it more times than I care to admit to the universe. My husband even mentioned the video in his VOWS! yep...I love it.<br />
As I mentioned in my video, I am a left hander and we suffer a lot with writing and what we write in and ring binders well they annoy me...I have had my arm and hand banged up against the rings for a whole year and it get's to a person after a while, so I decided to go rouge and try all BOUND planners and journals this year, and just use a ring binder for my wallet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizDanOCXo5rXMK4cD1xrHdK2FX8-rwi6sqksqAyxR26IkdpNvvT3uwgTYaPRUoME6taZiMGbMf_qQS3Pg3wnRlNgtXY62wMqP8KXnszLgu9OmUbfFSIO0I3MVESt-81D4chQM-quD78zA/s1600/IMG_8660.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizDanOCXo5rXMK4cD1xrHdK2FX8-rwi6sqksqAyxR26IkdpNvvT3uwgTYaPRUoME6taZiMGbMf_qQS3Pg3wnRlNgtXY62wMqP8KXnszLgu9OmUbfFSIO0I3MVESt-81D4chQM-quD78zA/s1600/IMG_8660.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
As you an see the bulk of my books are hobonichi's. I am using the two a6's as my home and work planners they are small and easy to carry both without putting my shoulder out.<br />

<br />
Above is a cheap notebook from Kmart, that I bought for the quote on the front and it now houses all my notes and brainstorming for the blog and my youtube channel then that gets filtered into actual posts which then make it to the blog planner....so streamline...I know proud right!?<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD27mBz0ieE0p783peTr2vkt9ZJOuucOyEtYBrSSuIkiqfTT2W80AIdKRGA9JGGkYgdKZSPIVkmhwMZg4STk5qpFEGyncENepUTKXq1FhghfgZzQxlYTGUIIlnKPnOjFL2EktEF4fW_cQ/s1600/onelittleword.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD27mBz0ieE0p783peTr2vkt9ZJOuucOyEtYBrSSuIkiqfTT2W80AIdKRGA9JGGkYgdKZSPIVkmhwMZg4STk5qpFEGyncENepUTKXq1FhghfgZzQxlYTGUIIlnKPnOjFL2EktEF4fW_cQ/s1600/onelittleword.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The year that was, 2014 started out with such high expectations that it was going to be the year where I chased down joy. For Joy was my word, and yet this year was one of my toughest emotionally and mentally. I struggled with the stress and anxiety of planning our wedding from the ground up. Thinking that this was going to be a breeze boy was I wrong, it was one of the hardest and yet most rewarding things I did in 2014.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I think choosing joy was a rookie mistake, with my rose coloured glasses on thinking that the year if I was just 'happy' then everything would just work out and yet it didn't, because sometimes joy cant be controlled. Joy and depression are not friends and I worked that out. This year has been a rather hard year, I don't deal well with pressure clearly! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So when sitting down to think about my word for 2015 I know I didnt want to pick a word I couldnt control, for it would only disapoint me if I got to the end of the year and another word would be a waste. So with such big plans for my little blog and my youtube channel what word would be fitting. There were a few words that got thrown about, John even suggested home, but it didnt click. Most things I set out to do seems to fizzlle out, my blog for example I posted 4 times in 2014 an all time low since I started, even though I have ideas bouncing around my head I never seemed to take the time to get them out or started.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiPcKMF5ZCIxaO45in776SPrw8yzUI0wZg-ri8asG-IXSRpbxU1uPGFTOe6NnFBu7tH4850bSBrK7Iq1GVPnCGfVVA0WGF7tQpHO0xNGq-XFKTGGU-RZhn6KcHKDzBgbxqbxwpYHX5RrM/s1600/onelittleword2015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiPcKMF5ZCIxaO45in776SPrw8yzUI0wZg-ri8asG-IXSRpbxU1uPGFTOe6NnFBu7tH4850bSBrK7Iq1GVPnCGfVVA0WGF7tQpHO0xNGq-XFKTGGU-RZhn6KcHKDzBgbxqbxwpYHX5RrM/s1600/onelittleword2015.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">My word for this year is <b>accountability</b>, something I can control, something I am responsible for, I want to be accountable for my blog, my channel, my little business and also my health. I want to take charge of 2015 with a fire in my belly, Ive made pre plans already, I wont be planning to fail this year, I want to plan to win. I have many projects and ideas that I want to execute this year and the only way that is going to happen is if I am accountable for my actions.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">In the above image I have a pile of planners, journals and notebooks that Ive decided are going to keep me on track for the year of 2015. I was going to go over them in this post but I think that will take away from just talking about my word. So my 2015 journals and planners will have a separate post and video to go along with it as many prefer videos to written text.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">What is YOUR word for 2015 I'd love to know.</span><br />

<br />
This year I've decided to embark on a daily drawing adventure, I did start something like this last year and fizzled out, but because my word of the year (post to come) is Accountability I am throwing myself into tasks that have deadlines, and daily is a deadline when it comes to drawing! I did start daily drawing in My Midori as you saw in <a href="http://ravenscauldron.blogspot.com.au/2014/12/planners-and-journals-2014.html" target="_blank">my planner and journal round up post</a>, but again, with no dates to keep me accountable I seemed to let that fall by the wayside as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaH2he2eSQlvMz5EEgfVOXXlewEh5EcV9dgsivU7TRPw7oujMWYsrp06cpbyfyjwlc9qbLFzmuOqfGjPIuiTcSG1Na1XyZjwLtlIuvFV2cmH5t9ax8rh9EJLYaUD3NmdK00F6ypWbcuos/s1600/IMG_8562.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaH2he2eSQlvMz5EEgfVOXXlewEh5EcV9dgsivU7TRPw7oujMWYsrp06cpbyfyjwlc9qbLFzmuOqfGjPIuiTcSG1Na1XyZjwLtlIuvFV2cmH5t9ax8rh9EJLYaUD3NmdK00F6ypWbcuos/s1600/IMG_8562.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(yes I know the photo is upside down...dork mode initiated) </span></div>
At the end of last year. I purchased a Hobonichi in both a6 and a5 size, now I wont go into too much detail as I will have a 2015 Planner and Journal post coming in the next week - we shall leave it at I bought them, I have them, I'm using them (more on that later). I decided that I wanted to use the a5 Cousin Hobo to document my day in drawings not only because I love to draw, but because I think doing the art of drawing daily will vastly improve my skills! I've always said just keep drawing, every single day and your hands will get the message.<br />
<br />

<br />
Behold my messy desk last night, as it was so hot all day and my studio is literally just a re-purposed garage with no air con! so I filmed late last night.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I will be attempting to film and upload daily as I didn't expect the video to be 10 mins long even though I sped it up, so doing a weekly video is too long! so I shall do my best to get the videos done, and I will do a weekily video post maybe on here as I have other things I want to post!<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed the little drawing video and the photos!<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let me start with saying 2014 was a total B*tch to me, I set out all bright eyes and excited with my word for the year being Joy...and before the end of January I was failing at all the things, and totally riddled with anxiety trying to plan my wedding from the ground up. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I posted a total of three posts this year...3. Thats how much of a time suck planning a wedding was! Next year I have a plan, many plans and many calenders so that I wont have a repeat of this year. Stay tuned for the 2015 planners and journals which will include a video along with the post.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lets start with the above planner,<a href="http://www.gillio.be/home.php?itemno=179&lang=EN" target="_blank"> the Gillio</a> Mia Cara A5 in Rust. It isn't a planner for the feint hearted, it is big...which is why I call her Big Girl. The a5 was our household planner and didnt leave the house often!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj77p5Wfv15f4l06RqeIxXq4W06ZFrKPwiRtC8kvaVW9RQ0FR4oob3tXBLdqVhevZo4h0o_EBgCPmRYaFwxnKpRjUnqtGoZNM62rrc4rC594RAUhx1NeiPZukvdDjUaX8NXmkZdtsDIjO8/s1600/IMG_0097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Little Raven Ink - Planners and Journals 2014" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj77p5Wfv15f4l06RqeIxXq4W06ZFrKPwiRtC8kvaVW9RQ0FR4oob3tXBLdqVhevZo4h0o_EBgCPmRYaFwxnKpRjUnqtGoZNM62rrc4rC594RAUhx1NeiPZukvdDjUaX8NXmkZdtsDIjO8/s1600/IMG_0097.JPG" height="640" title="Little Raven Ink - Planners and Journals 2014" width="426" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had monthly spreads that were tabbed, but I changed my inserts a few times till I decided to go simple...with cheap undated ones from officeworks. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
These inserts cost under $5 they are undated, and plain and boring, but I decided to make them work for me, as the budget was tight and I couldn't afford to be buying inserts every 5 mins when I wanted to try something new. So I divided the pages up left hand side housed reminders, dinners, appointments, bills all that wonderful housey stuff we all dead with when running a busy household, and on the right side was my cleaning schedule, my little ones homework and readers, and sometimes my work tasks that I needed to attend to, and I colour coded those accordingly. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sometimes cheap and simple work just fine!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I dabbled only once towards the end of the year when a friend of mine designed these inserts for herself I fell hard for them and she sent me over the file with my customizations, part of me still looks at these inserts and adore them! even though next year, I'm going RINGLESS!</div>

these housed my week on two pages, with basic reminders for when I was out and about. Also things from the a5 got transferred like bills, school notes, school dates, parties all things appointment related, I also kept running to do lists in my personals as well, I'm a list maker what can I say!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Moving onto my Journals of 2014, and there was only one journal the entire year, my Midori Travelers Notebook in brown pictured above with a field-notes sized black <a href="http://www.mylifeallinoneplace.com/" target="_blank">Raydori. </a>As you can see I have already finished one inesert and close to finishing my second for the year of 2014. This journal captured my heart instantly and I knew I had to get one, and as soon as I did, it hasn't left my side. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I experimented with drawing my weeks to get a feel for that <a href="http://www.1101.com/store/techo/2015/planner/lineup/" target="_blank">hobonichi style</a> that has taken the planner and stationery community by storm, being a visual person in my journals anyway, drawing my days became a fond love of mine, and something that will feature heavily in 2015 in video format.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are going to be some exciting changes in what I used next year for my planning and journal system and I can't wait to show you guys! I have got myself centered and ready to hit the ground running in 2015 with lots of projects, reviews, some design team work, speed art videos and also some drawing of my day weekily videos, I want to make this a place of colour and inspiration in the coming years, so hold on tight while I make some blog changes between now and the new year, but dont fret it will be worth the wait! Next post will be what's my 2015 Word of the year.</div>

I'm going to print this list out and paste it into my weightloss section of my journal. </div>

Surrounding myself with affirmations always seems to help lift me that bit higher when I am doubting all that is around me. I am cutting sugar from my diet for the next 14 days to re align my tastebuds. So with a clean mind, I will be focusing on getting my blog posts written, and maybe some videos! we shall see how much time I have on my hands. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I shall see you tomorrow! </div>

<br />
Good Morning!<br />
I know it's been forever! but fear not with all my crazy planners, I've finally got my act together and got a posting scheduled together for the blog, and also you tube. A lot of people have been wondering where I am! hoping for a post, or a video something! I have been around, I am just stupidly busy trying to get on top of a few things, and planning for the wedding in October!<br />
What you will see in the space in the coming days and months :-<br />
Monday Mantra posts. ( I miss these)<br />
Art Journal posts, featuring pages from both my art journal and my written midori journal.<br />
A Weekily or Bi Weekly Youtube video post.<br />
Friday Faves which will feature my top thing for the week be it an art supply stationery makeup handbag.<br />
A Sunday Round up post featuring the photos that havent made it to instagram or the blog from my big camera.<br />
and every other week either a wedding post, a weightloss post, or a recipe...who knows...<br />
<br />
But for now, remember, if the day truly sucks, or you've broken your diet...its not too late to start over...we all love a clean page, it doesn't have to be ruined, we just need to turn the page. <br />
<br />
Take care and I'll see you soon!<br />

<br />
we had a big Christmas this year, as we do most years now John and I are together, between us there is a lot of family members. Elijah turned 7! and is on his way to grade 2 this year! and little Boo, is ready to start her journey at big school staring Kindy this year aswell.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnkjJVpd71_O5eYbXYIFzZ9b4_TAEMVISZmWWfj5sT-eeBTu7kj8zb-jHp-kJNhSrfVP3sS3pqwX7R3vHysdYDHxVONMuKZzMKKwz0TWHTeXKoFurBCUyQaq0_ORBJYbUAUPSBnXMx5oo/s1600/IMG_5023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnkjJVpd71_O5eYbXYIFzZ9b4_TAEMVISZmWWfj5sT-eeBTu7kj8zb-jHp-kJNhSrfVP3sS3pqwX7R3vHysdYDHxVONMuKZzMKKwz0TWHTeXKoFurBCUyQaq0_ORBJYbUAUPSBnXMx5oo/s1600/IMG_5023.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
2013 started off with a bang, with me getting engaged, and a whole whirlwind of things happening, including the highs and lows of my weightloss journey which I have written about in the past on here. I am still struggling with the balance between this journey and the rest of me. So I decided that for 2014 I would chase one thing, and one thing only.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/b0/42/f2/b042f2a663858a51dd50d72d3a16d67d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/b0/42/f2/b042f2a663858a51dd50d72d3a16d67d.jpg" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
I decided that this word would pave the pathway for my everyday for 2014, I want to chase joy, and chase it with my arms wide open...so if something doesn't bring me joy...I need to change it up.<br />
<br />
With my word safely thrown over my year like a butterfly net, I decided I needed some other goals to live by, as it seems I always set out with the best intentions as most people do! but this year I really want to do the things I set out to do January 1st. I joined a group 12, 52, 365 where we pick goals to do once a week, once a month and everyday....or just one of those, I jumped in with a goal for each category!<br />
<br />
To read a book every week for my 52 goal...currently I'm on my second book for week two began yesterday. Below is the book I finished for my first week..and what a wonderful book it was. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMAf_1CRnu3re5VPRUCRP87AWHBD1myFI8OB7ElHVhPbpc89hC-5ZM97ipcPCbkcQ4Vd1Xk_8UWT8WeBgp1rcfTKdOpB8y4olSpWi1Fbd22DFs4sEQMchQHo4xNttYG93aipoaUGPPX5A/s1600/IMG_5300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMAf_1CRnu3re5VPRUCRP87AWHBD1myFI8OB7ElHVhPbpc89hC-5ZM97ipcPCbkcQ4Vd1Xk_8UWT8WeBgp1rcfTKdOpB8y4olSpWi1Fbd22DFs4sEQMchQHo4xNttYG93aipoaUGPPX5A/s1600/IMG_5300.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided that for 2014 I wanted to put pen to paper for at least 10 mins a day in my written journal, and in my art journal...of course my new beautiful art box my dad gave me, made that job an absolute pleasure to work in day in day out, I can tote my fave supplies from the studio to the couch each day with no problems...Its one of my fave gifts of the season. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs7o8vUUVzHwb6cMD0hgPRTgVUrOTUpdwbraqo8dz3pDnv6PdeCJq5uW-1JHDlh9ALLrVIhIUG2ZlatcM2cWN348mvXlblCx8kjQPC-K_HdJ1avoKoPUscipGmKeHCtvhKIC64ZxvpTmc/s1600/IMG_5296.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs7o8vUUVzHwb6cMD0hgPRTgVUrOTUpdwbraqo8dz3pDnv6PdeCJq5uW-1JHDlh9ALLrVIhIUG2ZlatcM2cWN348mvXlblCx8kjQPC-K_HdJ1avoKoPUscipGmKeHCtvhKIC64ZxvpTmc/s1600/IMG_5296.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
My Midori Travelers Notebook is my written journey, and it is where I put photos, and daily writings, which I am dating for the first time in years! my way of staying accountable is to date the pages so I dont miss any...everyday commitment. It doesn't take me long, I've been inking my pages up with splashes of distress stain just to give it some visual interest, and sometimes some photos or stickers, as I take so many photos, this is a way to use them in here, and in my art journal.<br />
<br />
It has been a long time since I've kept a proper written journal, and I am enjoying the process again. It doesn't take up much of my time, and I know once I reach day 365 I will have a nice little line up of finished Midori notebooks to show for it. <br />
I will do a whole post devoted to my Midori Journal in the coming weeks, as I know there are many that would like to have a look at it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJkl7OfVo1yCk1g6w8VZcB0kNAnkm8y0J2nHl6NwDOmXNxS8ZLjAJRdimciuZQG3o8kwXzTbPn3lAJW0ofe1uQxaZ4x8-FOXINXmSd-pDufeOGZ5envwSqSECy6r_DT72sRaXMAUEU98g/s1600/IMG_5319.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJkl7OfVo1yCk1g6w8VZcB0kNAnkm8y0J2nHl6NwDOmXNxS8ZLjAJRdimciuZQG3o8kwXzTbPn3lAJW0ofe1uQxaZ4x8-FOXINXmSd-pDufeOGZ5envwSqSECy6r_DT72sRaXMAUEU98g/s1600/IMG_5319.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
and of course, the other thing with my 365 goal is pen to paper in my art journal, now 2013 was not a good year for my art, I barely picked up my art journal in 2013, and when I did, what I created within the pages felt wrong..and lacking life and love. Once I finished my big sewing book, no journal seemed to feel like home...I even tried getting out 6 or 7 journals and working in heaps! which was a train wreck waiting to happen.<br />
So this year, I picked up my strathmore journal which I got last xmas as a gift from my mum, and just started working in it, it already had pages from my <a href="http://ravenscauldron.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/jane-davenport-stencil-blog-hop-and.html" target="_blank">Jane Javenport Stencil post</a> in there, so there was some bright life on the pages already...so I ran with it... The Friday Pages blog post will come back this year, with everyday arting, there are quite a few pages that will need to be shown!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUX-NgTYTLBC-QWqAkBioAkjQ9Dgl1tdBXj8m_cd5kOLMO0BZVUoKMLTAnZFMRPLSAP_0ppwks6stn8chOfuiJLAY04_lL2pimIe0cv7EqZ-S82lU9-2X8Ihwic1ue0rbtw4aMLyohcww/s1600/IMG_5303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUX-NgTYTLBC-QWqAkBioAkjQ9Dgl1tdBXj8m_cd5kOLMO0BZVUoKMLTAnZFMRPLSAP_0ppwks6stn8chOfuiJLAY04_lL2pimIe0cv7EqZ-S82lU9-2X8Ihwic1ue0rbtw4aMLyohcww/s1600/IMG_5303.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Last year, I won a scholarship to the amazing Print and Scan Workshop with Jane Davenport...I was humbled and totally overwhelmed with emotions at getting a spot when only two were given away, this year I am taking my business to full flight, once I work through the course, and do all my homework, my images and journal pages will be available as Fine Art Prints in 2014. I also want to start working on one of a kind Fabric pieces featuring my artwork, so keep and eye out for that!<br />
There will also be one off original canvases going up into the store as well, I have to finish off my commissions and then I will be jumping onto that moving train with gusto. As of now, I will no longer be doing commissions until further notice.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
as for planners! well there will be many a blog post on those! from what I'm using for 2014, to the amazing binder that now has my wedding planner in it....stay tuned! It is lovely to be back, and thank you to all who emailed me over my hiatus to check to see if I was doing ok! It is such a heartwarming feeling when I got the odd email here and there. They are all appreciated.<br />
<br />
How is your 2014 shaping up! and what is your word for the year!<br />
xx Courtney.<br />

Instead of just Friday pages, I thought I would change it up, and do a Friday Round Up, tidbits from our week, more mine than ours I guess, as I am the one behind the camera all the time!<br />
the 6:30 wake ups have been KILLING me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3802/10337047024_86bd4367d3_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3802/10337047024_86bd4367d3_z.jpg" width="480" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
barely awake, but trying hard! I have a goal to reach by Christmas, and maybe just maybe I will make it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3784/10337059135_f63e7073e6_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3784/10337059135_f63e7073e6_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
trying to keep up with my daily writing, knowing it is helping me, get ideas out of my mind and onto my paper. and my planner, the brains of life hehe.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/10337039564_76d17e264e_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/10337039564_76d17e264e_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
working on art for a dear friend of mine, just the base layers so far, soon they will have more on them! little canvas board filled with original art.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7448/10337039895_6f8a30a97b_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7448/10337039895_6f8a30a97b_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
a page from a journal swap I am in, where each month I sent a journal page to a woman in the group, this page's theme was 'black and white' I struggled very much with this, till something clicked and before I knew it, I was finishing it up!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5492/10337223483_93eb93c2f2_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5492/10337223483_93eb93c2f2_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
working on homework for <a href="http://janedavenport.com/workshops/joynal-creating-your-own-fairy-tale/" target="_blank">Jane's class JOYnal</a>, a dancing flower fairy! she is still very much a work in progress, but I am at least liking how she is turning out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7347/10337238593_2648e7a6df_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7347/10337238593_2648e7a6df_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
every afternoon, I pick this little man up, and he makes my heart sing, telling me all the things he did that day, asking me way too many questions and generally being adorable.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3809/10337074936_a2eaeaca61_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3809/10337074936_a2eaeaca61_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
so how was your friday?<br />
xx Courtney <br />

When approached by the lovely <a href="http://www.instituteofcute.com/" target="_blank">Jane Davenport</a> to be part of her new stencil blog hop, of course I jumped up and down and fist pumped..then politely accepted. I loved watching what people created with her first set of stencils when I worked with her at the Sydney Craft fair this year, to watch people's personalities just jump out of the page as each woman took the stencils and created something wildly different...<br />
<br />
<br />
I myself never got to play with the first set, but I have enjoyed coveting the second set. As have my teacup humans.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7360/10094231775_5ed7084201_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7360/10094231775_5ed7084201_z.jpg" /></a></div>
When the package arrived at my house, little Lily Boo was just as excited as I was. As was master Elijah, who just wanted to be in the photo shoot...this stencil has been used just a little bit!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7433/10094308623_f56c340f97_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7433/10094308623_f56c340f97_z.jpg" /></a></div>
Lily wanted to try them straight away, and for me, I'm not going to deny her using them, what harm could she do to them, I always want her to feel like she can use as much of my things I as use myself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7413/10094298463_d19877eb04_z.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3690/10094237045_ed62c3ee32_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3690/10094237045_ed62c3ee32_z.jpg" /></a></div>
She may have squeeled when she worked out what happens once you lift the stencil, it was ADORABLE to see the glee on her face, once she coloured in all the lines..what would happen once she peeled the stencil off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5332/10094312823_df3c192f59_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5332/10094312823_df3c192f59_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
but of course you are hopefully here to see how I used the stencils... Lily is just an added bonus.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3785/10094279276_53e38b8c47_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3785/10094279276_53e38b8c47_z.jpg" /></a></div>
So I wanted to make the stencils still look like 'my style' and I hope that by now I actually know what my style is, so I got to work making something that I felt represented me as an artist.<br />
I worked in two journals, my actual art journal and my written journal which is a<a href="http://www.travelers-notebook.com/" target="_blank"> Midori Travelers notebook. </a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2872/10094282706_01a00ca542_z.jpg" /></div>
A simple and more understated approach then something a little more WILD and bold.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2841/10094270005_041ea24a28_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2841/10094270005_041ea24a28_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I also had ideas of making my own Gift wrap paper using the face stencil in a repeated fashion, but time got away from me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3717/10094287516_ffa7f01665_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3717/10094287516_ffa7f01665_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I wanted to create bold lines, since a black paint pen has fast become one of my most relaxing things to do in my journal...just draw lines, I like to create worlds with just lines. I also wanted to use lots of colour, so welcome to my 'Twisted Sista' spread.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5516/10094242805_b10c3abf2f_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5516/10094242805_b10c3abf2f_z.jpg" /></a></div>
Using paints, and copic markers, paint pens, washii and a few bright distress stains to create something that is uniquely me...and yet show how amazing <a href="http://www.instituteofcute.com/" target="_blank">Jane's </a>set of stencils really are. I used black gesso and a make up sponge to get my girls down and tried to be rough so they didn't look so perfect. My scale like women have become some of my faves things in my journals to date.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3794/10094300833_e272711d00_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3794/10094300833_e272711d00_z.jpg" /></a></div>
In my <a href="http://www.travelers-notebook.com/" target="_blank">Midori Journal,</a> I used some distress stain just to give a little colour, a black ballpoint pen and some prisma coloured pencils to create something simple and yet beautiful. I also matched up some washii tape, and of course my written journal contains photographs. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7350/10094326223_902bb028c5_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7350/10094326223_902bb028c5_z.jpg" /></a></div>
so there you have it...my take on these amazing stencils!<br />
below is something I haven't finished, but she will soon be transformed into something...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3671/9721279007_dfb2c18f1a_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3671/9721279007_dfb2c18f1a_z.jpg" /></a></div>
If you read my little nook, you know that I'm on this epic journey to lose literally half myself in weight. Now it has been a year since I started this journey, but the last few weeks, I decided I needed a tool to help me stay on track, keep focused and remind myself of my achievements, because when your goal is so huge...you forget to celebrate the little milestones...and they are the MOST important.<br />
<br />
So I ordered a<a href="http://www.filofax.co.uk/finsbury-organiser-0253_MIN_54PO.html" target="_blank"> pink personal Finsbury </a>because deed down we both know I'm a girly girl lol, and I wanted something very different from my brown leather beauties. Because I'm not as precious with this one as my gillio, she has a charm and a very laid back feel to her.<br />
<br />
She is holding some of the overflow from my malden, since my gillio is a wallet, some of my 'decorating' loves got the chop!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5507/9721279523_bafc2eb48e_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5507/9721279523_bafc2eb48e_z.jpg" /></a></div>
some washi tape, some flags some see through tabs and some post its. Nothing too fancy but we have pockets may aswell use them! Not that I decorate my health one she has a purpose but hey I'm an artist, I need colour with me. Even if its just to look at.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5335/9721280041_a1d31d8d1a_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5335/9721280041_a1d31d8d1a_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
under my fly leaf is just a reminder to myself, being a total emotional eater I need to stay on point...I also have a lucky bear pen loop attached to my fly leaf in hot pink, which holds a coleto 4 barrel pen.<br />
the finsbury came with 2014 inserts...and because I wanted to use it straight away, I had a set of <a href="http://www.dodopad.com/" target="_blank">2013/2014 dodo inserts</a> which I was keen on for my personal...but decided to throw them in here for my food tracking each day. A blank pages for notes, and general things I need to remind myself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5337/9721280583_6554734357_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5337/9721280583_6554734357_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I move these with my weeks as reminders...they are progress photos and also under the quote, is one of my starting photos at my biggest, my costco ID photo...to keep myself in check...these really do help...they make me accountable...to remind myself that I dont want to go back to where I was...it was killing me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2866/9721281257_8cdc97d561_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2866/9721281257_8cdc97d561_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I print out my weekly workouts from my trainer and best friend, and a blank page for tracking times if I am asked to track how long I do something for each round, these pages go between my week as I use them daily, the finsbury is usually stuffed into to treadmill so she stays open, she is a workhorse so like I said I'm not precious with her.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7350/9724510496_1dbc9a14c1_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7350/9724510496_1dbc9a14c1_z.jpg" /></a></div>
this is how I use the <a href="http://www.dodopad.com/" target="_blank">dodo pad </a>in her, I put all the foods down for that day, usually my weight but since I am currently not weighing myself, that is absent from my current week, I put my food into a phone app to make sure I am on track cal wise and below my carb and sugar levels, I also put how many cals I've burnt in my workouts. This is more for my sense of achievement than anything else, I like to see my progress, I like to know that I am staying on track.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7409/9724510006_5a5732fe81_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7409/9724510006_5a5732fe81_z.jpg" /></a></div>
Using my new <a href="http://www.studiol2e.com/" target="_blank">StudioL2E</a> plan it stamps, I also track my weeks worth of water intake, not being a natural water drinking lover this is sooo helpful! I hope that once I see it visually I will make MORE of an effort to get to that 8 glasses.<br />
So there you have it, I dont have any other sections in this filofax, I am thinking of a meal planner section...so I can track our fave paleo meals and things like that...but for now, I am totally focused on just keeping it my health and fitness planner, and she works well.<br />
<br />
Maybe I'll do another post talking about the big girl at the bottom of the pile....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3831/9721287119_1e3863ca3b_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3831/9721287119_1e3863ca3b_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
hope you found this helpful!<br />
see you soon<br />
xx Courtney</div>

I am a woman of routine, as much as that drives me crazy its the truth. I hold myself together by doing things a certain way. As silly as that sounds, when you are juggling 50 million things, being a mum to two kids that are developing into their own personalities, being a loving fiance, planning a wedding for 60+ people, changing my lifestyle and losing weight, whilst fighting depression and trying to make a name for myself Art wise...something has to be there in place so that I don't lose the plot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2827/9721149075_9ebc98af47_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2827/9721149075_9ebc98af47_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Now I've posted about my<a href="http://ravenscauldron.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/little-update-on-life-atmart-and-new.html" target="_blank"> beautiful Malden</a> in one of my latest posts, This is my new love, one that my darling fiance purchased for me, and it is just delightful to live in. It is handmade in Italy by many many talented craftsman and its second to none. A Gillio Medium dark Brown Compagna. She is holding my life together, keeping me 90% sane!<br />
<br />
I never thought such a simple thing, could help me get so many aspect of my life in check. It's like My one woman show book.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7365/9724376670_f2c9fd5de5_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7365/9724376670_f2c9fd5de5_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I use a week on two pages, and have toyed with the idea of a week on one page with a notes page opposite, maybe next year I will trial that. I get our lives down in this book, from bills, to school things to remember, daycare days, letters I need to write to penpals, our weekend plans and so on. Using highlighting stickers to make important things jump out at me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7371/9721155175_763002083f_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7371/9721155175_763002083f_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I make my planner my own, with little drawings, stickers, bright tape and coloured pens, it helps me feel like I am in charge of my life, not the other way around.<br />
<br />
My daily routine was an idea from a fantastic video by Joy over at<a href="http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0aCR7aAXEEPaAJgqyxpOPQ" target="_blank"> enjoyette @youtube</a> if you haven't seen her, do watch her filofax vids. they are some of the best I've seen.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7413/9724377218_13f91377e8_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7413/9724377218_13f91377e8_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I can move my tags around if my day is different, and I should have taken a new shot of this page, because now my work outs are at the crack of dawn lol and my blogging is later on in the day...I've got these post it flags on a hambly screen print dashboard - all my dividers are dashboards now.<br />
Another idea from joy was context boards...which I quickly adopted into my own planner<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7284/9721154645_2a374ab751_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7284/9721154645_2a374ab751_z.jpg" /></a></div>
they get checked off once they are done...the errands one has been replaced a few times already once all the jobs are done, a new board is put on. It's awesome, I love this idea.<br />
Major daily things that MUST get done go into the weekily board.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7291/9721155715_a2784a18ff_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7291/9721155715_a2784a18ff_z.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
my planner is where I go to remind myself of little important things...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3714/9724378318_96a8caea74_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3714/9724378318_96a8caea74_z.jpg" /></a></div>
it is where I store things that I know will make me smile when I flick to them<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721151299_f154487a93_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721151299_f154487a93_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I don't just use mine as a planning tool, I also use my <a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721151299_f154487a93_z.jpg" target="_blank">Gillio</a> as a wallet...it is working so far, but I see another pocket sized <a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721151299_f154487a93_z.jpg" target="_blank">Gillio</a> in my horizon.<br />
Some people may think its silly, or archaic, but for me...pen to paper is how I get through life be it art or writing...so paper planning is the only thing that makes sense to me...even if I am a digital girl in so many other areas of life, it will never be part of my planning life.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721153537_d6ca9084a4_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7320/9721153537_d6ca9084a4_z.jpg" /></a></div>
I will do a more updated set up video soon, so keep an eye on that if that is something you would enjoy.<br />
maybe paper planing is something that youre missing in your life...<br />
