Happy Thursday!
I am having such a great time exploring a new medium of fabric and thread. I can sew, I have made 2 quilts and many quilt squares...but this is a little different.

For my birthday I asked my girlfriends to get me started with a little embroidery love...and they did a great job! I have a couple of basic books, and I've been watching youtube videos, and immersing myself in blogs on the lovely thready subject...but while I sat in the drs office last week I thought I'll just jump in with both feet and try...no real stitches, just me trying to draw with thread. So when I'm stuck creativity in my art journal, I draw flowers...so what did I do...I stitched flowers, or the start of some!
I think I will fill the hoop with flowers, no real precise technique, just me making images with thread instead of art supplies....I must say, I am loving it!

Now! another thing that is inspiring me and making me pick up a needle and thread, is the lovely and so very talented Teesha Moore.  made these videos a while ago now, and I watched them then...and I've watched them about 10 times recently! take the time to watch all 4 vids, its such a simple technique but it creates some awesome looking journal covers!

 So I got my fabrics out, and my threads and before I knew it, I was making the little pillows to make a journal cover! they are nice and relaxing to just sit and stitch on the couch. Who doesn't love a good handmade journal! Lets hope mine is half as awesome and cool as the lovely Teesha.

a stupidly long post.

Smiling from my fingertips, moving and inking. Panting and giggling to myself...I had forgotten this part of me.

The muse is slowly, ever so gently coming back to me...welcome to my little world of art.




Op shop finds, from my little bumkin oppys, pottery galore! but it all works so well hehe, I love my random pumpkin sugar bowl that will now hold buttons. And my epic tablecloth find which makes me giddy everytime I walk in to see it.


a girl can never have to much vintage randomness hehe, a 50cent buy not sure what treasures will be inside this girl, but I'm sure before the week is out, it will hold something.

one of the little finds that stole my heart were these brown leather shoes, complete with flowers, for a whole 4bucks they came home in my shopping basket too cute for words! also in the photo a snippet of my current WIP, a shawl called Whisper in a lovely lovely green colour.some stamps that hit my doorstep from Darkroom Door

and my art journal workings at the moment- this journal is made from old xmas cards all different shapes and sizes hole punched and strung together with some twine. Its slowly getting a soul.
This weekend Im off to Tamworth with my Mum, we are going to burn up the spotlight floor! with my beautiful girlfriends from Armidale, we are embarking on a quilt along a years worth of sewing, and hopefully a quilt at the end...wish me luck ...cause I will need it

Flea Market Finds - The BookWorm

This is my first week joinin in with my dear friend Sophie's meme Flea Market finds, but I have a few delightful things to add to the list.
On the weekend my town had its first Book Fair! I went in hoping to find something, anything lovely that I could snavel up into my book bag, I wasnt dissapointed!
I came home with many.
all my finds cost me a total of 9bucks! bargain basement. Here are just a few of what I brought home!

There were books everywhere you turned, it was delightful! I was lucky to get a sweet old copy of...

a few old poetry books to turn into altered art, some beautiful vintage craft book, and a few new novels for my bedside table.
