little lovelies, and some squishy yarn

After much chatting and laughing on the phone, I was reminded how my blog was missed, so I got my battery charged and started photographing the beautifuls from my week. Alot has happened the past few days for the better, and Im excited that the tension in my shoulders has finally eased a little.
I was so lucky to win a blog give away on Little Lovlies nook, and it arrived safely in my mail box a couple of days ago, with some adorable fabric buttons!!
she now lives in my vintage tea cup on my craft desk, and looks most cute there.

I did a blog post about The Yarn Cafe not too long ago, the lovely Elissa and I are doing a swap between us two dyers, its nice to get some coloured yarn in the mail, you get so much natural its a nice change. In the post last week was 200grams of this beautiful colourway, 'Twilight' which is utterly lovely and is waiting to be turned into something really pretty, just not sure what yet! I keep looking for patterns but nothings jumped out at me yet.  I need to send hers off soon, its just been so crazy around my house I barely have time to write blog posts!
on my list of swaps and things, I worked on this little number for a close girlfriend's new little girl. I hope she likes it, Im rather taken with it once it was finished. the cherry blossoms make me smile, I made matching handwarmers and a facewasher to go with the parcel. I hope it arrives and is adored.
The blankie will RETURN! Ive decided to knit a square a night no matter what, they take me 30 mins so thats nothing in the scheme of things.
keep your eyes peeled!

I now have a little girl screaming at me! so I'd best go entertain her and get the last of my house tidy for my parents, they are coming over for chinese tonight.

Late Creative Space!

I didnt want to miss out, so I scurried into my space to take photos! I did take some of my morning space, and then my evening - go me being so overly organised for once! My space started early this morning, when it was my sleep in! I decided to stay quiet in bed and get a little work done on my blanket, which is becoming a great love affair between said blanket and myself.
Please adore my tote bag, its my first every sewing experience years ago, with bag ladybug fabric and feral pink lace! Im still in awe that its travelled across the world and back, and not a single stitch is undone! It currently holds all the balls of yarn for my blanket...soon it will need to retire as Its getting rather full!
I then went on a shopping trip with my family and didnt get home till rather late! so while many hours have passed, I decided to knit by candlelight in my craft room to wind down from the rather busy daytrip! I think everyone goes a bit stupid around easter! The supermarkets were full of crazys!

As you can see my blanket yarn pile make a small mound, its most lovely to see! So many women have donated their scraps of 8ply merino to me, its been really touching, Im going to embroider their initials onto a square so I can honour their thoughtfulness onto something special of mine...because in all honestly, without their donations, my blanket wouldnt be what it is becoming...stunning.

and just for a little yarn perve, I purchased myself some lovely handspun yarn from a good friend of mine, she custom spun it for me! Meet Violent Violet, isnt she just devine!
and yes, I like to munch on yarn for breakfast hehe.

I am now going to snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie, while knitting squares
pop on over to Kootoyoo's blog for more beautiful creative spaces!

a Saturday.

A saturday afternoon and I've been busy in the pot as usual, getting the last few customs out before I hit the cauldron full pelt for another yarn club. And as you can tell, Im fashioning pink fingers today, goes oh so well with my red top!

I woke up this morning to a lovely pm for a lady on ravelry, who creates these amazing samplers from Indie Dyers all around the world, she has invited me to become one of the contributors!

Im really excited to be asked and Im currently planning my samples to send off to her! If you havent ever heard of it definately check it out! Phat Fiber

On tje creative front, Im on the hunt for a beautiful frame for my new found love, this little card from mandy! It needs to be displayed on the walls of my room!
and in front is the workings of my scrappy square blanket! its totally getting there, almost 6 squares done, they dont take much at all, but its finding the time to just sit and selfish knit! Below are three squares that have been joined. I have found several little balls of wool in my drawers that will make a square, its amazing what you find when you actually look!

and another work in progress, My little Lily's circle blanket, slowly its coming along! I hope to have it finished by winter! the pattern is called Rippled Stone, and its crocheted, works up fast just time I never have lol! I want to make it really big so she will get some decent use out of it! the colours besides the purple have been in my stash for over 4 years! so I thought it was time to use them up! Im loving it though, its really easy to sit and just crochet along.

I shall leave you with my new tea tin, which I adore beyond words and the blend that has captured my heart! Stockholm, I am utterly addicted and my small 50gram bag is dissapearing before my eyes! I hope tea central do mail order or Ill start getting the tea shakes! hehe
enjoy the evenings of your weekend, knit and be blissful...make a pot of tea..I know I am
