Inspiration Tuesday - List Me Baby!
The other night in my sleepy haze after a big day, I found a link to 52 Lists for the year, I am behind of course, thats how I roll most of the time, behind the 8 ball, but I started to print them out, and will be filling them in, till I catch up. These lists will be put into my Project Life Folder, (which I'm also catching up on lol - pics to come!) I decided that week to week with project life is just too much for me, I have photos for months..so I thought, I will just document my year, any way I can, so my folder will be our entire year with no fixed, boxed in ways of documenting, just what I get done...anyway! back to the lists!
Moorea Seal is the creator of the list project, and I must say I am enjoying filling these out!!
So if you are looking for something to bulk up you project life, or just a bit of a list lover like myself, why not catch up like me! and do 52 Lists!
have a beautiful Tuesday!

around the nook
It's a little wet and windy here at the moment, and our zoo trip had to be postponed, the teacup humans were very grown up about the decision which I was surprised about, but they wanted to see the animals happy and not hiding from the rain. So here are some of my snaps from during the week on whats happening around the nook.
playing with ideas, as I create the notebooks and writing papers and digital download sheets filled with nook dwellers.
making sure that I don't get behind on project life, by having pictures printed daily so that they are a constant reminder that they need to be trimmed down and popped into my album, we popped out today to grab some grey ink, we had been running low and soon my images were much too bright! (like highlighter bright) so I relented and replaced the grey ink.
some of my custom 3 by 4 cards in these spreads, about our we try it Wednesday cooking, and the kids making puzzles.
I organize my images in two folders in iphoto, 3x4 and 4x6 so I know what images are being printed and for what pockets, I found this much easier since printing at home can be wasteful in photopaper when it comes to varying sizes.
with the school holidays, we tend to let the kids do more electronic treats. which end the moment school starts. One of the little mans fave past times, is playing skylanders on the ipad.
with the weather being awful, there is nothing better than curling up on top of a bunch of cushions with a book, I was half way through this before I stopped for some reason, so I took it from the bookshelf and began devouring it once more.
my inside desk at the moment...yes I have several desks out in the studio, but some days it is just much too hot, so we put up a little desk inside for me to use on things I'm currently working on. My gelli prints waiting to be cut up for my scrappy journal pages, my rabbit book, some books I'm currently reading and odds and ends.
and working on that commitment of being a better friend above is a custom writing paper and envelope I worked on...maybe these will come out in the shop! who knows.
So that's whats happening around the nook.
enjoy the rest of your long weekend if you are an Aussie...and stay safe to the readers in the tornado cylone flood zones in Australia, my thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Project Life Update.
With all the fuss over being sick! things have been slow with project life, so today I opened up iphoto and started trying to get Organized! I did this by making albums for 3 x 4 images and 4 x6 images so I could print them in batches. I print at home so I have more control over what my images look like, it costs me more to do this, but I wouldn't change it. I ended up printing 4 a4 pages filled with 3 x 4 images
I'm not that great with a cutter...so I hand cut all my images. Yep I'm crazy but I like the control of it all, so I sit on the couch with something playing on youtube and have a cutting marathon!
I looked through my kit cards, and to be honest, I am not totally in love with the cards that came in our kit, they didn't speak to me! so after being inspired by Elise's cards that she makes herself, I opened up photoshop and got busy.
I used some of my fave quotes that I've found in pintrest, and added them as an overlay over funky backgrounds.
I also decided I wanted to make some custom cards for our engagement part of project life, at first I wasn't going to make a big fuss, just the picture I used the announcement and be done with it...but then I sat for a moment and thought, this IS a BIG DEAL! why wouldn't I want to document our engagement/proposal! so I started making a few cards for that....
I got a little carried away, which is why my spreads aren't finished for me to show you, because I got caught up in photoshop hehe.
I also made the decision that all my 'handwritten' cards would be done in photoshop using typewriter font for a cleaner look. John liked that idea so Ill run with it.
If I make enough 3 x 4 I might make them into a set to download...baby steps at the moment though.
so that's where I am at with my project life! I am almost all caught up, and tomorrow in my Around the nook post, I'll show the two finished spreads.
have a beautiful weekend.

The beauty of summer
Summer and I, well we have a love hate relationship, I hate the heat and the sticky sweaty days, but I love how things look in the sunshine, I love the brightly coloured fruits in the fruit market. Today..today was a love day, I ate lovely lush succulent cherries, making me smile as my fingertips got stained such a pretty colour.
and tonight, as I started cooking our dinner, I stopped to admire the bright greens and reds of our makings for a taco salad minus the tacos. If you check back next week, there will be a paleo/primal recipe that John and I cook together and blog for you guys, as our lifestyle has changed so much in the last 6 months!
and to leave you with a sneak peek of the start of my 2013 project life. Its nothing spectacular but its shaping up to be a very bright and beautiful year, and I'm not even into the first week. How are you documenting your memories and experiences this year?
enjoy you evening, and I'll see you tomorrow
x Courtney
